Newspaper Book Drive: Support Our Special Education Library!

Newspaper+Book+Drive%3A+Support+Our+Special+Education+Library%21

Legacy―do you have children’s books you don’t read anymore?

Ms. Stephens and the Lightning Letter want new or gently used pre-reader to 4th-grade books to develop Legacy’s Special Education library.  Give your books to your 1st period for points, and the class with the most points will win donuts! Don’t have a first period? Drop off your books at the library.

Hardcovers, superheroes, Babysitter’s Club, and Calvin & Hobbes win 15 points. Animals, automobiles/equipment books, and graphic novels win 10 points. Other miscellaneous books earn 5 points.

If you have any questions, talk to Ms. Stephens or email us at [email protected].

UPDATE 2/12: The drive is now closed.

Congratulations to Mr. Kroupa’s first-period class for winning with 1730 points! Mrs. Flack won second place with 540 points, and Ms. Dodd won third place with 205 points.

Hardcover books will be in Legacy’s library, while other suitable books will go to Legacy’s Special Education Department and Kids Need To Read, a nonprofit that promotes literacy for disadvantaged children across America.

Thank you to all who participated!
