Horimiya

Anime/Manga

5/5 stars

Hori Kyouko and Miyamura Izumi attend the same school. To Hori, Miyamura is a weird, quiet, loner who doesn’t associate with anyone. And to Miyamura, Hori is the perfect straight A’s girl who never gets things wrong. One afternoon, Miyamura happens to escort Hori’s little brother home after getting startled by a dog to find out that the depiction that he had in his head about Hori was nothing like who she truly was. It just so happens that Hori also makes the same realization about Miyamura. The two teenagers start to get to know each other’s real personalities and grow in their relationship that blossoms on the way.

I love this anime/manga. Yes, it’s romance, but what I love so much about it is that despite it being about love, its main theme seems to be centered around friendship, which is just as important of a value as love. This show is a comfort for me and I highly recommend watching or reading the manga.
